Brad East is Assistant Professor of Theology at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. He received his PhD in Religious Studies from Yale University in 2017, concentrating in Theology. His dissertation examined the role of ecclesiology in contemporary theologies of Scripture. His areas of interest include the doctrine of Scripture, ecclesiology, theological interpretation of the Bible, the doctrine of the Trinity, and moral theology, especially issues of war, peace, and nonviolence. He has published articles in Modern Theology, International Journal of Systematic Theology, Scottish Journal of Theology, Pro Ecclesia, and Anglican Theological Review. He has also written for Marginalia Review of Books, Los Angeles Review of Books, Mere Orthodoxy, and Living Church. He is editing a forthcoming volume of the late Robert Jenson’s essays on Scripture for Oxford University Press, and he blogs regularly at Resident Theologian.
