James Crossley is Professor of Bible, Culture and Politics at the University of Sheffield. He is interested in issues surrounding the quest for the historical Jesus and contemporary political receptions of the Bible. He is author of Harnessing Chaos: The Bible in English Political Discourse since 1968 (Bloomsbury/T&T Clark, 2014) and Jesus and the Chaos of History: Redirecting the Quest for the Historical Jesus (OUP, forthcoming).
