David Krueger is an independent scholar, writer, and stay-at-home dad based in Philadelphia. He earned a ThM from Princeton Theological Seminary and a PhD in religion from Temple University. His forthcoming book, Myths of the Runestone: Viking Martyrs and the Birthplace of America, will be published by the University of Minnesota Press in 2015. His research and teaching interests include US religious history, violence, sacred places, myths of origin, and the ways popular religious culture flourishes outside the bounds of institutional and denominational religion.
