Vanessa De Gifis is Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies at Wayne State University, and author of Shaping a Qur’anic Worldview (Routledge, 2014). Her research focuses on themes and rhetorical structures in the Qur’an, Qur’anic hermeneutics and exegesis, and the influence of the Qur’an on Arabic-Islamic literary culture. She is the blog coordinator for the International Qur’anic Studies Association (IQSA).
